Stress can come
in many different forms and it can have a detrimental effect on
our health. Stress can arise as a result of many different reasons.
It can be brought about by a traumatic accident, an emergency situation,
or it can come about as a result of our daily lives and living it
always in the "fast lane." With work, family responsibilities and
everything else we have on our plates, it's no wonder that we would
feel a little fried at the end of the day and quite frankly and
not quite healthy.
While you might
not feel as though you can escape stress, you really do need to
take a "time out" for yourself every day so that you can keep on
track. If you don't then believe it or not the stress you are under
will start to take it's toll on you health wise, and then where
will you be.
Stress can eventually
catch up with us and will lead to having health problems, some of
them include:
weight gain
depression
high blood pressure
stomach cramping
bloating
headaches
trouble sleeping
lack of energy
and the list goes on...
You may be asking
yourself, ok, I live my life on-the-go everyday, I am already stretched
to the max, what could I possibly do to help ease my stress and
save my health??
Glad you asked!
Read through
the articles below for some good, rock solid information and to
help you get going, try a few of these techiques:
1. Relax - I
know easier said than done, but you gotta do it!! You need to unwind
and each one of us has our own way of doing just that. If for you
relaxing means, running a bath and just "being" then do it! If you
can take some "me" time and get a massage, then just do it. Even
take a few minutes through out the day and just "be," you will be
surprised just how well it will benefit you.
I take about
10 minutes or so a couple times a day and just breathe. I breathe
in by a count - 1-2-3-4-5-6 hold it for the 8 count and then slowly
exhale EVERYTHING to the count of 12. This helps clear the mind
and get rid of the "bad stuff" inside ... try it for yourself!!
2. Get Enough
Sleep - when we are well rested we are "on top of our game." We
can feel 10 feet tall and ready to hunt bear ... ok, ok well maybe
no a bear...but you will feel much better.
3. Exercise
- I know, I know ... but it's true. Exercise can help relieve the
tenseness in your muscles and helps your mood too.
Three little
things that will go a long way in alleviating your stress and helping
you feel healthy!
